A Vision statement is an aspirational description of what an organization would like to achieve or accomplish. It is intended to serve as a clear guide for navigating the institution through current and future courses of action. The statement must align with the strategic directions of the University. A Vision should be forward looking and active.
UQ: knowledge leadership for a better world
A Mission statement defines the purpose of an organization and answers three questions about why an organization exists – what it does, who it does it for and how it does it.
The University of Queensland positively influences society by engaging in the pursuit of excellence through the creation, preservation, transfer and application of knowledge. UQ helps shape the future by bringing together and developing leaders in their fields to inspire the next generation and to advance ideas that benefit the world. UQ strives for the personal and professional success of its students, staff and alumni.
